NMU made the short trip down to Petoskey yesterday to take on Ferris State in the final game of the year and handles the Bulldogs with ease. The game got chippy early as players from both teams got into it leading to a ejection for a player on both teams. After the first half NMU was up 10-2. Going into the second half NMU did not let up and kept pouring on the goals at will. All the cuts and plays that were run during the game were done very well and it helped many of the freshman get their first points of the season.

The Wildcats will be making the 4 hour trip south to play rival Ferris State at Petoskey High School following the Petoskey High vs. Traverse City High varsity game. The game is the final for a core group of seniors, should be a great game as every time these teams play each other they are.

Saturday on a wet, soggy, muddy field on the Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University the Wildcats took on the #6 ranked Lakers. NMU came out quick by scoring a few goals and made the game interesting.  At the end of the first quarter the Cats were only down by 3 goals. During the second quarter the Lakers would extend their lead to 9-3. Coming out of half time NMU was fired up and showed some signs of a comeback but just could not slow down the high powered Lakers offense. Scoring for NMU was Todd Zimmerman with 3 goals and 1 assist, Alex Pascovsky with 2 goals, and Ryan Cherry ,Connor Fox ,Billy Issets each with a goal. Final score was 18-8, thanks to GVSU for hosting us and good luck to them on the remainder of the season

In Saturday's match up with the Knights of Calvin, it was a battle as it always it. After the first quarter the Wildcats were up 1-0. During the second quarter Calvin tallied 4 goals. Going into the half the score was 5-2. NMU was not without its chances to score in the first half. They were given six minutes of non releasable penalty time due to Calvin having two illegal sticks. Even with the extra man chance, NMU could only manage to put in one goal. As the second half went on NMU just could not slow down Calvin and the game ended in a 11-6 loss. Scoring for NMU with two goals each were Connor Fox ,  Todd Zimmerman , Alex Pascovsky .

Northern took on Hope College tonight at a amazing facility in Grand Rapids on a nice cool evening. The game took place at Grand Rapids Christian’s new stadium. NMU came out quick scoring six goals in the first quarter. After the first Hope came back and made the game interesting putting in five goals in the second to Northern’s three. After the half the Wildcats regrouped and ran away with game tallying five goals in the third and seven in the fourth quarter to come away with a final score of 21-9 and some nice momentum going into Saturday’s big match up with Calvin College. Putting goals up for the Cat’s Friday were Connor Fox with 3 goals 5 assits, Todd Zimmerman with 5 goals 2 assists, Kyle Kelly-Pepich with 4 goals 2 assists, Ryan Cherry  added 3 goals and 3 assists. Chris Nelson and Eddie Sindles both added 2 goals and rounding out the scoring with a goal each was Brian Buchek and Alex Pascovsky.
